Hiker Tom Home - Trip Report - Route Map - Trip Plan - Photos - Videos

This trip was a R2R2R for me and a double R2R2R for my backpacking companion, Alyssa. We started down the South Kaibab trail and hiked to Bright Angel Campground, Cottonwood the next day, the North Rim for the next two nights, back to Cottonwood for one night, then to Indian Garden for my last night. That's when things got interesting for Alyssa. The next morning we hiked across the Tonto east trail to the Tipoff where Alyssa met up with her other hiking partner, Victor. He hiked down the South Kaibab trail with supplies for himself and Alyssa for another week. They took off down the South Kaibab trail and I hiked out. Alyssa and Victor went on to hike R2R2R. I met up with them on the North Rim (I drove around) and we all spent the afternoon and evening together on the rim.
